An annual (since 1997) conference weekend, usually in the spring. Changes city and leadership team each year.
Brings together leaders and prospective leaders of the BDSM, Leather, and Fetish communities nationwide, to exchange ideas on how to create and improve community, organizations, education, events, etc. Plus have some fun.

M/s Retreat
An annual (since 2011) un-conference weekend, Fri-Sun, usually in March or April, at Saratoga Springs (2 hours north of SF).
Focuses on Master/slave identified people and relationships.
Relaxed, protocol-optional, with formal dinner Saturday.
No classes, contest, speeches, run show, banners.
Lots of discussion groups and time to talk.
Attendees are mostly quite experienced in M/s or full-time D/s relationships.
Inclusive. About equal numbers gay or straight. More couples / partnered folk than single.
Some singles, lots of couples and leather families.
Usually sells out.
We provided the Saturday evening opening ritual in 2011.

Port Social at NWLC
After the Saturday evening contest and run show at NWLC, many attendees retire to the executive Hospitality Suite for conversation and a complimentary array of ports.
Port is a luxurious fortified dessert wine, usually red.
This social is part of the conference, and so requires conference registration.
(Sometimes day or evening registration becomes available during the final week before NWLC.)
NWLC is 19+. This social is 21+.
The social has been sponsored by Society of Janus since it's inception in 2008.
Since 2011, we've been in a luxury indoor suite, with spectacular views. Suggested attire ranges from formal leathers to fetishwear to nudity. Some attendees decline the port, or bring their own -- the social part is the key.
The energy of the social is a nice blend of sophisticated leather protocol, relaxed mingling with local and national people, and celebration of the NWMs contestants. It makes a fine transition between the contest and the play party.
Before 2011, NWLC was at a different hotel, and the social was an outdoor, poolside (with hot tub) cigar and port social. It's always been very popular.

SF Aids Walk, Cynthia Slater Memorial Contingent
Aids Walk is a fund raiser for local charities.
We created the Cynthia Slater Memorial Contingent.
As far as we know, this is the only leather / BDSM / fetish contingent.
The contingent is hosted by Society of Janus, but anyone can walk with us (it's free), or donate.
The walk is about 6 miles, in Golden Gate Park, and we stroll it being sociable, no rush.
The event and contingent is meant to pass for vanilla; dress accordingly.
Conversation can vary to all topics, so bringing under-18s in our group might be ill-advised.
