The Primal vision

Our Vision:

• Primal provides a safe refuge, protected from mainstream attitudes on sexuality. We avoid narrow definitions of sex, sexuality, gender, and attractiveness. We avoid commercialization, exploitation, judging, manipulation, and stereotyping. We actively discourage hetero-normative attitudes and behaviors.
• Primal is a queer sex event, for broad definitions of both queer and sex.
• Primal is a social event, that happens to have a lot of sex.
• Primal facilitates all gender expressions and variants, including trans, butch, femme, androgyny, genderqueer, intersex, daddy, boi, gender fluid, master, slave, m2m, mommy, grrl, dominant, submissive, cisgendered, epicene, and many others.
• Primal facilitates spirituality, energy work, sacred sex, and ritual in sexuality.
• Primal facilitates kinky, leather, BDSM, magick, cuir, and faerie sex, but such that it doesn't intrude on other attendees.
• Primal equally supports polyfidelitous, polyamorous, polysexual, polyplayful, monogamous, and solitary expressions and relationships.
• Primal facilitates experimentation and growth.
• Primal encourages playfulness and joy.
• Primal brings together diverse people, for inspiration, mingling, and healing.
• Primal emphasizes consent and respect.
• Primal requires safer sex practices.
• Primal discourages public displays of personal drama.
• Primal limits its publicity, but actively recruits from certain LGBTI communities and under-served groups.
• Primal is a non-commercial event, aiming to cover its costs.
• Primal is about relaxing, exploring, growing, and having fun.

Some principles:

• Each attendee may define themselves as they like.
• Each attendee is entitled to confidentiality about their identity and life outside the event.
• What happens at Primal stays at Primal.
• Each attendee may express their sexuality as they like, within the confines of the party and venue rules.
• Since we are such a diverse group, we try to have patience with each other.
